A list of Some Appropriate Prepositions

Ignorant of (অজ্ঞ) — He is ignorant of this rule.


Ill with, of (অসুস্থ) — He is ill with fever.


Impatient of- কোন কিছুতে অনিচ্ছুক- Youth is impatient of restraint


Impose on (চাপানো) — The task was imposed on me.


Indebted to (ঋনী) — I am indebted to him for
his help.


Indifferent to (উদাসিন) — He is indifferent to our
problem.


Indulge in(আসক্ত হওয়া) — Do not indulge in wine.


Indulge with(প্রশ্রয় দেয়া) — Do not indulge with him  with your support.


Inform (a person), of
(something)(
জানানো) — He informed the police of
the 
murder.

Inferior to (ছোট/হীন) — This orange is inferior to that.


Inquire of (a
person)about, into(a matter) (
জিজ্ঞাসা করা) —I inquired of him about (into) the
matter.


Insist on (জিদ করা) — He insisted on my going
home.


Introduce to- কাউকে কোন কিছুর সাথে পরিচিত করানো- Wordsworth introduced the reader to a new
kind of poetry.


Interest in (আগ্রহ) — He has a special interest
in 
history.


Interfere with (a
person), in (a matter) (
হস্তক্ষেপ করা) — Do not interfere with me in
my business.


Invite to (দাওয়াত দেয়া) —  I invited him to
dinner.


Involved in (জড়িত) — He is involved in the plot.

Jealous of (কোন কারনে ঈর্ষাপরায়ণ / হিংসুটে) — I am not at all jealous of his fortune.


Jump at (লুফে নেয়া) — Do not jump at the offer.


Jump to(আসা) — Do not jump to a conclusion
without much thinking.


Junior to (ছোট) — He is junior to me in
service.


Junior to (বয়সে ছোট) — He is junior to me by
five years.


Justification of, for (বিচার/বিবেচনা) — There is no justification of his conduct.

Key to (সমাধানের উপায়) — He has found out the key to his problem.

Lacking in (অভাব) — He is lacking in courage.


Lame of (খোড়া) — He is lame of one leg.

Laugh at (উপহাস করা) — Do not laugh at the poor.


Lay by (সঞ্চয়) — Lay by something for
the old age.


Lean against- কোন কিছুর বিপরীতে হেলান- He is leaning against the wall.


Liable to (দায়ী) — He is liable to fine for
his misconduct.


Light by- কোন কিছুর দ্বারা আলোকিত করা বা হওয়া - Now-a-days many villages are lit by electricity.


Liking for (পছন্দ) — She has a liking for music.


Limit to (সীমা) — You should have a limit
to 
your demands.


Limited to (সীমাবদ্ধ) — Invitation was limited to members
only.


Listen to (শুনা) — Listen to me. Listen
to 
the news on the radio.


Live on (food) (খেয়ে বাচা) — The cow lives on grass.


Live by (বেচে থাকা)— He lives by honest
means.


Live beyond, within (বেচে থাকা)— He lives beyond his
means. He lives within his means.


Live for (an ideal) (বেচে থাকা)— He lives for fame.


Live from hand to mouth অর্থ দিন আনে দিন খায় এভাবে বেঁচে থাকা- Many people of our country live from hand to mouth.


Look at (লক্ষ করা) — Look at the moon.


Look after (দেখাশুনা করা)— There is none to look after her.


Look for (অনুসদ্ধান করা) — I am looking for a good
job.


Look into (পর্যালোচনা করা / তদন্ত করা)— I am looking into the
matter. / The police is looking into the case.


Look over (একনজরে দেখা) — He is looking over the
answer papers.


Look up (কোন কিছু খুজে দেখা) — Look up the word in
the dictionary.


Long for (আশা করা) — He longed for fame.


Loyal to (বিনয়ী/বিশ্বস্ত) — He is loyal to his master.

Mad with (পাগল) — He is mad with pain.


Made of (তৈরী) — This ring is made of
gold.


Make for (যাত্রা করা)— The ship made for England.


Make out (বুঝা) — 1 cannot make out what you
say.


Marry to (বিয়ে দেয়া) — He married his daughter
to a rich man. She was married to a rich
man.


Marry (বিয়ে করা) —She married a French man.


Mourn for, over (শোক প্রকাশ করা) — Don't mourn for (over) the
